When should UK families visit Orlando?

There’s no single perfect week — it’s a trade-off between weather, crowds and price. Here’s how the seasons stack up for a villa near Disney, and how to match them to UK school holidays.

Orlando weather by season

  • Spring (Mar–May): Warm, sunny and comfortable — arguably the sweet spot. Highs of 25–30°C with low humidity.
  • Summer (Jun–Aug): Hot and humid, 32°C+, with near-daily afternoon thunderstorms that pass quickly. Great for the pool, less so for queuing.
  • Autumn (Sep–Nov): Still warm and much quieter once US schools go back. Watch for the tail of hurricane season in September.
  • Winter (Dec–Feb): Mild and dry, 18–24°C by day but cool evenings. Lovely for the parks — but you’ll want the pool heated.

Easter

Warm weather and manageable crowds, though prices rise around the holiday itself. One of the best all-round windows.

May half term

Summer holidays

The busiest and most expensive stretch, and the hottest. Perfect if you love long pool days — just embrace the midday pool break to dodge the heat and crowds.

Christmas & New Year

Magical, with the parks beautifully decorated — but the priciest and busiest of all, and the coolest weather of the year.

Pool heating: the winter essential

Florida’s “mild” winter still cools an unheated pool to a bracing temperature. If you’re visiting between roughly November and March, we strongly recommend adding pool heating to your booking so the private south-facing pool stays swimmable all holiday. It’s the difference between a pool you look at and one you actually use.
